A press note from the MIP has clarified that “the NSCN/GPRN as in compliance to the COR signed by the three top leaders, has been maintaining status-quo and thus been refraining itself from initiating any aggressive formation or provocative activities in any area that falls under or outside NSCN/GPRN”. “Therefore, implicating our members or cadres involvement in the heinous murder does not arise at all because our presence or penetration in the said area is yet to be undertaken”, stated the MIP note

News: GPRN/NSCN condemns AR action at Aboi, Konyak Region
DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 12: The GPRN/NSCN has informed that the “notorious Assam Rifles” has once again showed that they have no respect for the innocent Nagas even during peacetime. A press note from the MIP stated that on 10th September, the Assam Rifles let by Capt. post commander Hanuman, stationed at Tobu, Konyak Region raided the residence of Naga Army officer Lt. Col. Lanpai Lanpai, even though fully aware that the officer was not at home. “At 11:00 P.M, his wife and children were awakened from their sleep and were threatened at gunpoint. Their excuse was that UNLF members were sheltered by them. The house was ransacked but they found nothing to prove that UNLF were being sheltered”, stated the MIP.
The press note stated that if the AR wanted to prove their “heroism in Naga homeland”, they should first respect the Cease Fire ground rules entered between GPRN/NSCN and GOI. “They are cautioned not to sneak into Nagas homes like common thieves. It is ridiculous to call themselves ‘Their friends of the hill people’ when their actions are more like burglars”, the MIP note stated.

IMPHAL, Sep 12: Objecting to formation of Committee on Re-organisation of Administrative and Police District Boundary, Sadar Hills Districthood Demand Committee (SHDDC) has observed that the political interests espoused by the different groups in the State will erupt to an unhealthy political condition if the so called Committee on Re-organisation of Administrative and Police District Boundary and its report is to be implemented.
In a representation submitted to the Chief Minister, SHDDC asserted ‘‘you are well aware of the Constitutional provision on which we base our demand for complete implementation of Manipur (Hill Areas) Autonomous District Council Act, 1971(Parliament Act no. 76 of 1971, 26 December, 1971) and subsequent constitution of six Autonomous District Councils in the hill areas of Manipur vide Government of Manipur’s notification dated 14th February, 1971 by the then Governor of Manipur through Secretariat, Planning & Development Department.”

IMPHAL, Sep 12: The Government should stop arbitrary hike in prices of essential commodities by traders by taking advantage of the economic blockade being imposed along the National Highways, All Manipur Students’ Union (AMSU) has demanded.
Talking to mediapersons in this connection at its head office located within DM College campus here today, general secretary of AMSU Bipanjit Ningthoujam warned that intense agitation would be launched with the public support, if the Government fails to take up some concrete measures toward containing hike in prices of essential commodities arbitrarily by September 15.
With some unscrupulous traders arbitrarily increasing the prices of essential commodities, the whole idea of instituting the Price Fixation Committee of the Government has become meaningless, Bipanjit contended, while demanding the Government to fix the prices of essential commodities and make the same known to the people through media.
